Burton Resort Rental

Are you new to snowboarding, don’t own your own gear, or only hit the slopes a few times a year? - If so, our rental program is perfect for you! Many people worry that rental gear is of lower quality, but with Burton’s Resort Rental program, you can set those concerns aside. Burton is trusted by many pro snowboarders so you can expect only the highest quality gear equipped with our ultra-convenient STEP ON®︎ technology.

What gear is available for rent?

The rental boards are designed to be beginner-friendly, making it less likely for your edges to catch unexpectedly. Along with the board, you'll get STEP ON®︎ boots and bindings. With STEP ON®︎, you won’t have to worry about your pants or gloves getting wet, and the quick setup means more time on the slopes and faster progression. STEP ON®︎ rentals are available at 12 resorts across Japan.

What is Burton STEP ON®?

STEP ON®︎ is a super simple system where you secure your boots to the board by stepping on the bindings—heel first, then toe. To release, just pull up on a lever. With no straps or extra parts, the system feels incredibly light on your feet.

Pull the dial out to unlock, the inner and outer tongues forward and step in.

Tuck the laces between the outer boot and the inner boot.

Press in the dial to lock it, then turn it to the right to tighten the laces.

Clip the pant hem into the clip on the boot’s heel.

Attaching the Bindings

Make sure the pant hem is tucked into the boot clips.

Align the heel cleat with the groove on the back of the binding and slide your foot downwards.

Shift your weight toward the toe side and listen for clicks on both the inner and outer sides to ensure the boot is locked in place.
Attach the leash to the loop on the inside of the front boot to finish.

Releasing the Binding

Lift the lever on the outer heel to unlock.
Lift your heel, shift weight to toes, twisting your foot to release from the Binding.
